Unitron: Company Overview

The Canadian manufacturer Unitron was founded in 1964 in the Waterloo region of Ontario, which is known as “Canada’s Silicon Valley.” Now a subsidiary of the Sonova Group, Unitron is a global provider of hearing instruments, with hearing aids distributed in 45 countries worldwide. Unitron is also a proud supporter of community efforts to raise awareness on hearing loss, and collaborates with the Global Foundation for Children with Hearing Loss and the Hear the World Foundation. Unitron hearing aids are designed from data collected by researchers and collaboration with partners in the hearing community.

North Processing Platform

North’s platform is equipped with a greater dynamic range, providing wearers with natural sound, free from distortion. With quick speed, North is able to adapt with flexibility between different noise environments. The dual-core processing helps wearers focus on sounds in four different environments: quiet, small group, crowd, and noise.

Unitron Hearing Aid Styles and Features

All three hearing aids are available in three wearing styles: receiver-in-canal, behind-the-ear, and in-the-ear. The Max hearing aid is a behind-the-ear style, designed specifically to treat severe to profound hearing loss. The Moxi hearing aid is a receiver-in-canal aid, with a discreet design and extended battery life. The Stride is available both as behind-the-ear and in-the-ear (this also includes completely-in-canal).

All Unitron hearing aids feature the following: SoundNav, a program that automatically identifies and adjusts in seven different environments (four of which are focused on conversations); Sound Conductor, which balances sound for a natural listening experience; SpeechZone 2, which improves speech recognition in the wearer’s full 360 degree surroundings; and many more. Unitron hearing aids are equipped with wireless compatibility, with the capability to stream phone calls, music, and other media directly to the wearer’s ears. This provides a seamless listening experience.

Moxi hearing aids are the newest model from Unitron, and also feature Binaural Spatial Processing, which simulates natural binaural hearing and Automatic Adaptation Manager, which helps wearers transition between different noise environments.
